Save Internet, Ditch Internet Explorer 6

Posted on March 2011 at about 3:09 AM by hwa

It’s been a while since IE6 (Internet Explorer 6) was released, If I’m right it was more than 10 years. Since then, IE6 has become one of the most used Internet browser, the main reason is that it come with Windows XP, which is also the most successful operating system back in it’s era.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of issues with IE6, especially the infamous CSS issues that caused a lot of headache for web developers. The CSS for IE6 is full of bugs, and it does not really follow the CSS standard, which make the CSS model does not compatible with other browsers, most of the time, and developers have to look for workaround, or even write a separate CSS for IE6, which is very troublesome.

Fortunately, Microsoft know about this, and they are begging people to stop using IE6, recently Microsoft is launching a website calling people to gradually stop using IE6, hoping one day the IE6 usage will drop to 1%. The website, which is, and here is what it says:

10 years ago a browser was born.

Its name was Internet Explorer 6. Now that we’re in 2011, in an era of modern web standards, it’s time to say goodbye.

This website is dedicated to watching Internet Explorer 6 usage drop to less than 1% worldwide, so more websites can choose to drop support for Internet Explorer 6, saving hours of work for web developers.

Well guys, let’s do your part by stop using IE6. You can at least upgrade your Internet Explorer, or choose one of the Internet browser available on the net.

While for me, I will do mine by stop supporting IE6. Fuck IE6! I had enough with the workarounds, stupid margin, padding, floats whatever CSS shits that I have to readjust just because of IE6 not displaying properly, stupid browser!

Seoul Revisit, Done!

Posted on March 2011 at about 4:58 AM by hwa

I should blog about this last week when I just back from Seoul, but I didn’t have much time to do so 😛 Anyway here are some updates regarding the vacation.

It was a one week visit, in which first three days I spent it with my friend, wandering around Seoul. The other days with my family, visiting few places such as Korean Folk Village.

The main purpose of the visit was actually for my brother’s graduation, it was on 25 February 2011 in Korea University.

Other than that, I mostly spent my time around Myeong-Dong, where I found out it had become my favorite place when I was in Seoul, been there a few time over a week! 😛 Actually, I only visited a few places this time, but no palace! As most of the places in Seoul I already visited when I was here last time.

The first is the Cat Cafe in Myeong-Dong, a cafe that full of cats!! Coffee + cats, suit me well! 🙂

I also had my first experience of skiing in Jisan Ski Resort, together with my friend dear Rebecca, not a very good experience though, as we didn’t get an instructor there, so most of the time we were just falling. ==

Other than that, I visited the Korean Folk Village, where you can experience the traditional Korean life style, I mean traditional Korean life style back in the old day.

Another place that worth mention is the Insa-Dong’s Stabucks. Yes I’m here again, in fact, this is the reason why me and Rebecca meetup, to have coffee in this special Starbucks coffee house. 🙂

Got this nice Stabucks logo metal box, inside is a chocolate actually, which only consist of three chocolates. ==

That pretty much round up my Seoul visit this time. For more photos, please head over to my photo gallery!
